The zoo again

We were supposed to go canoeing yesterday but Mark had a little mishap, so we went to the zoo instead. Mark was riding his bike and decided he wanted to see what would happen if he got his tire stuck in a rut and flew off of it into a pole at 20 miles an hour. He is fine, just quite sore on his shoulder and knee where he hit.

Zoo with Laura

Witnie and Miles travel in style
They had this lizard out to pet
When Sydnie wasn't riding she wanted to pull.
Witnie likes rice cereal
If you can't tell, Maddie loves finding critters.

Witnie is figuring out how to move around. She tries to get her legs up to crawl, but she hasn't figured out her arms.

Bike Rides

Mark and I are training for an adventure race in November, so we have to do a lot of biking. We make it a family affair. When Maddie gets tired she rides in the baby seat on Mark's bike and Sydnie and Witnie ride in the carrier he pulls. That's about the only way I can attempt to keep up with Mark.
We biked near this 7800 acre park so we decided to have a picnic at the playground.
Witnie will be sitting up soon!

Labor Day Adventures

We started our adventurous day by finding this little guy under our canoe . At least it wasn't the skunk that was there last week or the many rabbit babies that are always there..
We found this new absolutely beautiful place to canoe. Sydnie enjoyed her first canoe trip much better aftr she fell asleep. She even slept through all the excitement. We were paddling back to the cars and we saw an older couple in a canoe paddling towards us. We were about 5 feet away from them and chatting when they must have gone over an alligator and scared it. The alligator popped up under there canoe and smacked the side of it with its tail. The older guy got thrown right out of the canoe and then swam faster than anyone I have ever seen to get back in. They had paddles, seats, and shoes in the water we helped gather up and then we halped them bail water out of there canoe. They were quite shaken up. It was one of the most interesting things we have ever seen. I'm just glad it wasn't us.
