San Jacinto Monument

This is the San Jacinto Monument. For any history buffs, this is the battle where Texas won their independence from Mexico. Probably more well known, this is the battle where "Remember the Alamo" comes from.
This must be a busy place at night.

We ate a picnic at the San Jacinto Monument after we did a boat tour of the Houston Ship Channel. For security reasons you are not allowed to take pictures on the boat.
Apparently Maddie thought this was the most comfortable position to watch a movie in. She sat that way and watched for a long time.

It's a girl!

Surprise, surprise. Apparently my family hasn't figured out the secret yet. We are so excited anyway (well everyone but Levi). I really don't care what we have as long as I know.

Canoeing at Sheldon Lake & Other Stuff

We had the ultra sound today and we are having........we'll let you know in a couple weeks when they can tell.
Anyway, we went canoeing at Sheldon Lake this morning and had a great time.

This is the only alligator we saw today. You can see a lot more during mating season in the spring.

Sydnie promply fell into the lake fully clothed before we even got in the canoe, so that is why she is wearing only a diaper and Maddie's jacket. We took a little hike after canoeing.
Bird pictures for Greg:

I took this picture of the bird and then noticed the turtle after we got home.

The kids love paddling. We finally got smart and now tie their paddles to the boat.
Sydnie did canoe , but it was about 74 so that was ok.
Sydnie got her first hair trim. It is hard to try and cut a wiggly worms hair.
