San Jacinto Monument

This is the San Jacinto Monument. For any history buffs, this is the battle where Texas won their independence from Mexico. Probably more well known, this is the battle where "Remember the Alamo" comes from.
This must be a busy place at night.

We ate a picnic at the San Jacinto Monument after we did a boat tour of the Houston Ship Channel. For security reasons you are not allowed to take pictures on the boat.
Apparently Maddie thought this was the most comfortable position to watch a movie in. She sat that way and watched for a long time.

Very interesting . . . so who was Maddie copying? Must be a Texas thing, I have never seen anybody in Utah do that.
Good point, if you think about it "Remember the Alamo" couldn't have been invented at the Alamo.
